- Excelsior Jet. The software we use live when we play on game controllers is written in Java whose real time performance turned out to be not too good. In order to improve this Excelsior has been so kind to provide a licence to their Java compiler Excelsior Jet. This software compiles the Java program to native code resulting in a significant performance boost (along with the added bonus of not being dependent on any installed Java Runtime Environment).
